I hold a Masters degree in marriage and family counseling and am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Oregon. I work with individuals, couples, and specialize in premarital counseling.
I was born and raised in the San Francisco area, and have loved living in Oregon for the last 15 years. I can usually be found being active outdoors, taking care of my garden and home, reading or making art, laughing with family and friends and cultivating my strength and appreciation for life. My own varied life experiences have strengthened my compassion for the challenges life presents, and I feel grateful to accompany others as they seek to make their lives better and more meaningful.
It was the combination of training to be a couples counselor and my own engagement to be married that led to my interest and passion for premarital counseling. Many married couples I have worked with in counseling (as well as married couples I know personally) have exclaimed to me when hearing about what I do with “I sure wish we had done that before getting married!”
I have developed an in-depth questionnaire for engaged couples that explores many different areas of relationship. These questions help people understand their basic needs in a relationship, clarify their shared values and goals (and how to reach them), and can solidify the ground under a couple as they prepare for marriage.
